Ce sera McKay et Woolsey !
Citation:
Two of our favorites from the cast of Stargate Atlantis are headed for SGU! As we told you last week, a pair of Atlantis actors have been signed for a crossover guest appearance on Stargate Universe (story). Now those two have been announced, at today’s SGU panel at San Diego Comic-Con.
David Hewlett and Robert Picardo will be the Atlantis residents to appear, according to reports out of the convention hall.
Hewlett’s Dr. Rodney McKay certainly makes for an obvious choice, seeing as he is an expert on Ancient technology (though a much later version of it) and one of the planet’s all-around smartest people. Destiny has previously sent away for experts to visit via communication stone, including Dr. Brightman for surgery (“Divided”) and Dr. Amanda Perry for engine repairs (“Sabotage”).
Picardo’s Richard Woolsey is also a logical choice, considering that his employer — the International Oversight Advisory — plays a significant role on the show through Camille Wray’s presense on Destiny, and politics back at Homeworld Command in Washington.

Hewlett and SGU actor David Blue (Eli Wallace) joked about the appearance via Twitter — Hewlett asking, “Why is it that everyone assumes Eli and McKay aren’t going to get along?” and Blue responding, “Let the slash fiction begin!”
But it’s not yet known whether one or both characters will indeed be visiting Destiny herself, or will appear on Earth (or elsewhere) — as was the case with all of the Season One appearances by SG-1 cast members, with the exception of Jack O’Neill’s (Richard Dean Anderson) brief visit to the ship in “Subversion.”
The characters will appear in “Seizure,” currently slated as the fifteenth episode of the new season and set to air sometime in the first half of 2011.
Syfy Channel also premiered a new trailer for the second season of SGU, which premieres this fall. That should be available at Syfy.com very soon, and we’re hoping to be able to host it here at GateWorld, as well.
